The Mayo Clinic describes Depression as...

...a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called "major depressive disorder" or "clinical depression," it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living.

More than just a bout of the blues, depression isn't a weakness and you can't simply "snap out" of it. Depression may require long-term treatment. But don't get discouraged. Most people with depression feel better with medication, psychotherapy or both.

Why the ; (semicolon) symbol on the bag? The simple answer is that a semicolon tattoo means that the person wearing it has overcome some sort of hardship in their life. The semicolon has become a symbol of hope for people who have battled depression, anxiety, addiction, and other mental health issues. It originates with The Semicolon Project, where you can go to learn more about this symbol, its meaning, and find support for suicide and mental health issues.

IMPORTANT NOTE Regarding the design of our mental health-related Plushie Dreadfuls. We take the topics of mental health and mental health awareness seriously. That's why our design team only creates plushies related to mental health issues with which they have direct experience. In cases where our team does not have direct experience, we assemble an external team of experts to help guide our creative process. In addition, we use Crowd Design to engage a wide range of voices via platforms like Instagram and Facebook. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the mental health issues we're exploring. And while we strive to represent as many aspects of a particular mental health issue as possible while avoiding stereotypical symptoms, we hope you understand that plush toys as an artistic medium do limit the full expression of a particular issue to those things that can be crafted in fabric and stitching.

James Z. ★★★★★

The ears are impossibly soft and the weight of it in my arms is just right for curling up with on the couch. I wasn’t expecting the fabric to feel this plush, but it’s become my go‑to comfort object after long days.

Brian ★★★★★

Held this guy during a rough night and the softness of the plush actually grounded me—the void-black fur feels different from any other stuffed animal I own. Having a physical reminder that depression is a real, named condition makes it feel less isolating, and I appreciate that it’s an LE so it fee

Christopher I. ★★★★★

I’ve had mine for a week and it already sits on my bad days like it knows exactly what I need. The void black fabric is so soft and the long ears are perfect for fidgeting when my hands get restless. It’s weirdly comforting to have something that matches how I feel instead of pretending otherwise.
